IPO OncoMed (OMED) is a clinical development-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering and developing monoclonal antibody therapeutics targeting cancer stem cells, or CSCs. Their approach has been to target CSCs, which are the subpopulation of cells in a tumor responsible for driving growth and metastasis of the tumor. Common cancer drugs target bulk tumor cells but have limited impact on CSCs.
